The scientific name of the Peach Tree is called Prunus Persica. It's origin from China where it was spread in Persia, in Middle East, while in Greece it became known in 400-300 B.C.
The Peach Tree thrives in a mild climate where the temperature doesn't droop under -15C in wither and it doesn't exceed the 35C in summer.
The ideal place to cultivate peach trees was proven to be Naoussa. Naoussa is a well known city for its peach production as the appropriate climate and soil conditions exist. In addition to this, the strong longing of the producers and their valuable experience create the desirable result of excellence, fruit (peach) rich in aroma, unique taste which are long lasting since they are packed in the field by the producer.


An important fact is that the best varieties of peaches, since the recent reconstruction of the varieties, are produced here.

Consequently, the peaches which are produced in Naoussa have been recognized as Products with Protective Designation of Origin (P.D.O), and they are unique as they are the only in Greece and of few in Europe with this accreditation.

The duration of the production can cover a large percentage of the market's demand, initiating from the end of May to the end of October.
